Space to Wonder...
This is a space for me to reflect, exercise curiosity, and wonder about whatever happens to be on my mind. From spirituality to the nature of vocation and calling; from popular culture to current affairs; from theology to nature, from everyday life to existential ponderings.
It’s this, that and everything; whatever whenever.
All The President’s men
A trip to the cinema to watch the 50th anniversary of the release of the movie, “All the President’s Men,” got me in a reflective mood. I am enthralled by the power of a well-scripted story brought to life with minimal high energy action scenes. More than that, I wonder about the increasingly lost art of slow journalism, and whether we have become stuck in moral complacency.
Moments in Time
As I contemplate this photo, I am reminded that time is but a series of sequential moments. Some are saturated with a quality that reverberates with meaning while other moments, slip by unnoticed and unmarked, as we get on with the simple acts of going about our daily business.
Ordinary Vocation
Our 24/7 Instagram and Tik Tok world would have us believe that "reaching for the stars," going for your dreams," and having careers that you are "passionate about" are the norms. The ordinary life, we are told in a thousand ways, is not good enough. Yet, at least from what I have observed, true and lasting transformation comes not in the exceptional times but through our daily lives.
The Way of Witness
I am wondering how we can respond to the onslaught of bad news thrown at us daily? Is there a way that is not complete retreat or raging in our echo-chambers? Perhaps the way of witnessing has something to offer.
